Department of Hospitality Services

   

The Department of Hospitality Services office is located in the M-DCPS School Board Administration Building, on the seventh floor.  We are an internally funded operation.  Food sale revenues are used for the purchase of our foods for sale, equipment, supplies, and some services not funded through the school board.  Our primary mission is to provide food services to our employees and visiting guests satisfaction.  We strive to provide our employees and visiting guests with excellent service, and excellent food quality that will result in an outstanding value for dining in our facility.  Currently we report to the Office of School Facilities located in the School Board Administration Building.   
  
The Hospitality Services Department is responsible for the operation of various food services for the M-DCPS School Board Administration Building and Annexes. We are responsible for the operations of the SBAB Dining Facility in the School Board Administration Building and the SBAB Annex Dining Facility. These Dining Facilities offer homestyle cooked breakfast and lunch for the employees and visiting guests of the school board.  Dining Facility hours of operation are as follows:

  • Dining Facility in the SBAB and SBAB Annex are open for breakfast service from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Monday to
    Friday, except for some holidays or when the School Board complex is closed or a recess period is in effect.
  • Dining Facility in the SBAB is open for lunch service at 11:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., Monday to Friday except for some
    holidays or when the School Board complex is closed or a recess period is in effect.
  • Dining Facility in the SBAB Annex is open for lunch service from 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, except for
    some holidays or when the School Board complex is closed or a recess period is in effect.
  • This department also coordinates food services for district wide events held at the School Board complex, such as
    board meetings, ceremonies, luncheons, receptions, and catering service as requested.

This department oversees the operation of vending machines at the School Board Administration complex.  Profits generated from vending machine sources, according to school board and state regulations are “for the purpose of promotion, public relations, and hospitality of business guests provided that such purpose will directly benefit or be in the best interest of the district.  Promotions and public relation activities involving graduations, visiting committees, orientation and work conferences, recruitment of employees, official meetings and receptions, guest speakers, accreditation studies and other developmental activities, awards or other types of recognition for meritorious performance.”
